How to vote FOR the New Zoning Ordinance
in the Rehoboth Beach Special Election on November 7th

VOTING IS EASY IN REHOBOTH BEACH - If you are registered, just vote in person at City Hall on election day or by absentee ballot (see below for absentee ballots). But you must be REGISTERED to vote.

IF YOU ARE NOT SURE IF YOU ARE REGISTERED, call the election clerk at (302) 227-4641   (If you were once registered but did not vote in the two most recent annual elections, your registration may have lapsed)

IF YOU NEED TO REGISTER, FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS

            
- To register, you must go in person to City Hall during the work week (Open 8:30 to 4:30) or on Saturday, October 10, 17 or 24 (Open 8:30 AM to NOON). It is at 229 Rehoboth Avenue:

- Full-time residents need only an ID with a local address.


- Full-time rental residents need an ID and a copy of the lease

- Second homeowners need the ID and nothing else if their name is on the deed, or the names of their spouse or siblings.                                                  

- If the property is in a trust, it must be in a revocable trust, and you are a Grantor and Trustee, you need an ID and a copy of the trust.


- If the property is in an LLC, you need an ID and lease for a 10 year term which has been recorded in Sussex County

If you qualify and have the documents, it takes only a few minutes to register.

ABSENTEE VOTING

IF YOU WILL BE UNAVAILABLE IN PERSON ON ELECTION DAY

ONCE YOU ARE REGISTERED, you have two good choices to vote absentee :


            1. Just go to City Hall and ask for an absentee affidavit, fill it in and submit it right there. On request, you will be given a ballot which you can cast while you are there. Seal and submit it. Wherever you are on election day, you will have already voted!!   OR

            2. Go online at cityofrehoboth.com , click on FORMS and print out an absentee affidavit. Fill it out, sign it (no notarization required), seal it and mail it in as directed. The City will then mail you a ballot which must be received back by the City before the polls close on election day - Nov. 7th.
